Joia Tours are based primarily outside of the town of Ilheus, in southern Bahia. The Brazil Cultural Tour also allows incorporates the cultural capitals of Rio de Janeiro and Salvador da Bahia.

The Cocoa Coast
The cocoa coast is one of many coastal sections of Bahia. It is the most striking coastline in the north, rich in Atlantic Rainforest, cocoa farms, and dramatic beaches. Itacare is known as the surf capital of northern Brazil and is a great place for beginners due to the warm waters and sandy shores. There are many species of micos (small monkeys) in the region, and the town of Serra Grande is home to the Serra de Conduru National Park, a 22,000+ acre Atlantic Rainforest preserve.




Salvador da Bahia
Salvador da Bahia is the orginal capital of Brazil, and thus it is blessed with historic colonial architecture as well the most vibrant culture in the country. Cobblestone streets where 150 person percussion ensembles parade, all set in a tropical beach town with caribbean-like pace.






Rio de Janeiro
